Are you weak?

Do you feel weak these days?

Or maybe just feel a lack of energy despite the extra time we have on hand lately?

I know that is the case for me as well as some of my friends and family. We feel blessed with this new amount of time available due to the unfortunate current state of the world. However, we still feel low on energy and weary at times.

I get more sleep and time to relax with the “Stay at Home order.” It is great to have this extra time to spend with God and write. So why do I feel tired so often? I guess it may be due to the absence of going out of the house to a job, running errands or meeting friends.

The other day I read my morning devotional from Jesus Calling. It spoke volumes to me regarding energy. Jesus told us that if we lack time, energy or money consider yourself blessed because it trains you to rely completely on Him.

Did that declaration include the word “energy”? Wow! I can rely on God for energy. I felt so incredibly grateful to know that I do not lack money or time right now. I do lack energy a little too often.

I meditated on these words from Jesus Calling and the verse attached. Read the lovely devotion from April 30th by Sarah Young:

"When some basic need is lacking—time, energy, money—consider yourself blessed.

Your very lack is an opportunity to latch onto Me in unashamed dependence.

When you begin a day with inadequate resources, you must concentrate your efforts on the present moment.

This is where you are meant to live—in the present; it is the place where I always await you.

Awareness of your inadequacy is a rich blessing, training you to rely wholeheartedly on Me.

The truth is that self-sufficiency is a myth perpetuated by pride and temporary success.

Health and wealth can disappear instantly, as can life itself.

Rejoice in your insufficiency, knowing that My Power is made perfect in weakness."

April 30 - "Jesus Calling", by Sarah Young

This verse from Paul was included with the devotional for April 30th.

He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.”

—2 Corinthians 12:9

This is such a beautiful verse. God’s power is being perfected in our weakness. His power shows itself most effectively in our lack of strength.

Feeling weak? Your weakness is of no great hindrance to God. On the contrary your weariness and lack will perfect God’s power. His power is highly effective when you fully depend on Him. God wants you to trust in Him for all your needs.

We can trust on God for energy! We can reach out to our God to say “I am tired” and “I am weary.” We can depend on our Creator to care for us in our lack of strength in any area, including vigor.

This was a revelation to me. I never considered depending on my Creator for energy and stamina. I am not sure I have ever asked my Provider God for it. After spending time meditating on the devotion and scripture, I have begun to have more physical energy. I give God the glory for it!

If you feel tired, weary or fatigued – go to your Creator for help. Tell Him your needs. Rely on Him to provide for you in this area of lack. The power of God is being perfected and shows itself most effectively in your weakness.

Praise Him for his provision all day! Your acknowledgement and gratitude of his care for you will help you see more and more of His love for you!

Happy Energy!

Love,

Truly
