The Generous Prayer

Good morning dear ladies!

We have a special prayer today that focuses our attention on generosity. The most generous, free giver is our Creator of course. His essence is love and abounding generosity. So much so that he gave his only son for us!

I am sure you are familiar with the verse "God loves a cheerful giver" in 2 Corinthians. We are going to examine this verse and other scripture surrounding it for our prayer today. Let's read these beautiful words from Paul and then narrow it down for an easy prayer.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 AMP

Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift].

And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.

Did you just hear the last verse? God is able to make every favor come to you in abundance (so that you may always have complete sufficiency in everything) and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. God can and will give you everything in overflowing fullness to carry out every good work planned for you!

We are asked to be a cheerful giver! God will supply the resources and abilities for you to give. So be joyful and enthusiastic to give!

Now here is some really good news for the givers!

God loves a cheerful giver - in ALL acts of giving, not just giving of money and finances.

God loves a cheerful giver:

in giving of your time, love and compassion.

in giving of your money, services and supplies.

in giving of your prayers, encouragement and hope.

and much more.

So you have no limitations in giving. God will provide you with what is needed to give, whatever capacity it may be.

TODAY'S PRAYER:

Dear Father God, Giver of all Givers, the Ultimate Generous God,

I praise your name for giving to me the highest gift of all, your Son, Jesus Christ.

Thank you God that you bless me abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that I need, I will abound in every good work. I will have cheer and rejoice as I give.

I will delight as I extend generosity to others as you have extended it to me in the upmost through Jesus Christ my Savior.

I pray this in the name of Jesus,

Amen

Happy cheerful giving!
