Week 2 - I Believe.
In John 11, Jesus speaks to Martha (the sister of Lazarus) upon arriving in Bethany. This conversation started because Martha was upset that Jesus had not arrived sooner to heal her brother when he was sick. At the time, she did not know that he would raise him from the dead.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
John 11:25-27 NIV
My question to you is the same. Jesus says to you, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
If your answer is “I believe” this means that you chose to receive (as truth) that Jesus is the Savior of the world. You accept and have confidence in these facts. You did that. You said "yes." You agreed that this is reality and legitimate. That is fantastic!
Be overjoyed in the simple fact that you believe. This week contemplate and think deeply about your belief in Jesus. You believe, and that is enough. It is not a time to consider the other things you need to do with your conviction. Just enjoy and take pleasure in your belief in Jesus the Christ.
I believe!
I believe that you are the resurrection and the life, the Messiah, the Son of God, who came into the world to save it.
