Meet the Angels
Angels? Do you believe in them?
This new series will give you absolute evidence of the existence of angels in history, leading you to see angels in the present. Each blog post will be a quick read with a verse to be used for meditation. Let's meet the angels.
What does that word bring to your mind? Anything?
Stop a moment and think about your version of angels. What do you see? What do you feel? Yes, what do you feel?
Do you ever think about angels? They do exist you know. They are spoken of in the Word of God.
Let me start with angels that ministered (cared for) Jesus. As you may remember after Jesus was baptized, He was led by the Spirit of God to the wilderness. He was sent there to be tempted by Satan. It was a time for Jesus to combat Satan before His ministry began. Jesus, of course, was the victor sending Satan away in the end.
Prior to this combat, Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. After this fasting time, it is written: “He was hungry.” I bet. Jesus had gone to battle in a weakened state of the human body, but victory was inevitable. After Satan departs at the demand of Jesus, angels arrived for Him.
Matthew 4:11 NKJV
Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
Matthew 4:11 AMP
Then the devil left Him, and angels came and ministered to Him (bringing Him food and serving Him).
Theologians consider this to mean they brought Him food of their own preparing and dressing. This makes sense. He was living in a human body.
Earlier in time, Elijah had great fatigue from running for his life, ready for death. Angels ministered to him as well.
1 Kings 19:5-6 NKJV
Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.” Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water.”
This is your first proof of angels serving two human bodies from this series. I find it interesting that God would lead me to share accounts of angels nourishing the human body with food. Food refreshes us. I love the reminder that our Savior Jesus was ministered by angels on earth. Wow!
Praise God for angels!
Let this be your first piece of evidence that angels exist and serve on earth.
Psalm 91:11 NKJV (a portion of verse for easy mediation)
“For He shall give His angels charge over you.”
Love you all,
