Jesus, the Lord saves

HOPE for the brokenhearted - Week 3

Even with your pain and distress, the reality is JESUS is saving you right now.

Let me show you how in this beautiful, powerful message from God to you.

The name JESUS means the Lord saves!

Trying to write a follow-up to last week's study seems to be more of a challenge than I expected. In my earlier posts of this series, I made efforts to let my sweet readers know that I sincerely sympathize and empathize with a broken heart. Our God gave me words to share to bring you comfort during a time of almost overpowering emotions. I pray that it brought you some relief.

Moving on to the next study for you and your heart, I have repeatedly been reminded by our Father God of a definition of the name of Jesus. I saw it on October 25th in my Jesus Calling devotion.

The meaning of the name Jesus is the Lord saves.

(See Matthew 1:21 in a variety of translations.)

I receive the messages and teachings that I put to paper from God only. I guess with this subject matter of a hurting heart, I was hesitant to go the route of comfort with Jesus, the Lord saves, because I am sure you wish you had been rescued from the circumstances that causes your pain. However, in much of my writing, I discover a SURPRISE in where we go and how we end. God is the true author. I trust Him. So here we go!

The words we will focus and meditate on this week are:

Jesus, the Lord saves

In our last study, we meditated and considered Psalm 34:18.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted:

he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Psalm 34:18 NLT

The Lord rescues and saves those whose spirits are crushed. If you suffer from a broken heart for any reason, I am sure that your spirit feels crushed. Although you may still be in a place of questioning why the source of your pain occurred and may be asking God why He allowed it; you will be rescued from the emotional state you are in now!

We don't understand why distressing and sorrowful things occur in our lives. Some call it universal law or a fallen world. The unfortunate case is tragic, and disheartening incidents are part of our lives on earth. In heaven, this will no longer exist.

Jesus, the Lord saves

is my continued word for you from God at this time. God would not share this with you who are discouraged if it would not bring you comfort and hope in this season of your life.

Let's try to stay in the present moment when we hear the words "Jesus, the Lord saves." Right now in your sorrow and anguish, think of Jesus and the fact that God sent his only son to save us. Remember that God sacrificed his one and only son to suffer for our sins, so that we can be saved. Not only are we saved from our sins, but Jesus also saves us from many things including our heart ache.

1 John 4:9-10 NLT

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

It is time to draw close to the One that has suffered in all ways - physically, mentally and emotionally. Jesus is your closest, most understanding, empathetic, loving one in this world and beyond for you right now. Jesus has more compassion and love for you than those close to you on earth. Many, many people love you immensely and have great sympathy for you here on earth. But Jesus grasps your pain more clearly and comprehends your sadness more than anyone. He lived it to save us.

It is time to allow your greatest support and console hold you, love you and alleviate some of your suffering. Jesus can soothe and calm your anguish better than a loving family member, supportive parent, sweet children, sympathetic best friend or encouraging pastor.

"How do I let Jesus (the Lord saves) help me right now?" you ask.

I know your sadness, heartache and grief feel as if they are controlling your life. Trust me, I understand. I don't forget my days of crushing sorrow and anxiety on the floor, where I started in a prayer stance to only end up in a curled up exhausted ball of emotions. Tears and actual wailing were not uncommon in my empty house while my young girls were at school. So please, dear friend, listen to this message from God by my hands and heart. Give it a try. I am by your side at your kitchen table, on the sofa, on the floor, in the car, in your yard, in a hallway, at your place of work, or wherever you reside now.

Jesus, the Lord saves

Together we say aloud.

Jesus, the Lord saves, is here.

Jesus, the Lord saves, is with me now.

Jesus, the Lord saves, rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Jesus, the Lord saves, rescues me.

Jesus, the Lord saves, cares for me.

Jesus, the Lord saves, loves me.

Jesus, the Lord saves, saves me.

I want you to keep your mind in the present when you say these words. With each emotion you experience, say - Jesus, the Lord saves is with me. Say it with your tears, your anger, your grief, your hopelessness and all the emotions that you experience (good and bad). These tenacious, disturbing emotions will visit you for sure, however they will not have a hold on you forever. They are emotions. They do not and will not define you. I promise!

This week, each day, as disturbing emotions arrive tell those feelings:

Jesus, the Lord saves, is with me.

Or choose any of the phrases above or create your own with the direction of Jesus

Just be sure to include Jesus, the Lord saves.

I am so very proud of you sweet friend for reading this message from God! I know without a shadow of a doubt that using these words (supplied to us by our Father God) will bring you some comfort. I am praying that God will help you open your heart to receive some hope and love that you desperately need. You can do this! It is also going to make Satan take a step back when he hears the name of Jesus in your defense.

If any of you need a shoulder to cry on, an understanding ear to listen, prayer from a sister - feel free to email me at trulykernea@gmail.com. We can speak via email or set up a phone meeting. I am here for you. I will be your strength, as one who has found victory in Jesus from a broken heart. So will you!
