Week 1 - Rejoice!

Rejoice - to experience joy and gladness in a high degree

Philippians 4:4 NIV

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

You may receive the joy of the Lord from God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. However, to rejoice requires action on your part. Paul is instructing Christians to engage in rejoicing. This is not accepting something. This requires your participation.

To rejoice is to make joy. Yes, make joy. You will make joy. This is exciting! We can actually produce and bring into existence joy.

How? We can start with a very easy act. Count your blessings. Yes, you have heard this phrase when implying to look at the bright side of something. In this instance, it refers to actually counting God's goodness in your life one by one. Write it down if you like. Listing blessings from God gives you no option but to rejoice.

This week make joy - rejoice.
