How Can I be Steadfast Trusting in God? - A Must Revisit Message!

Psalm 112:7 NIV

He will have no fear of bad news;

his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

Are you steadfast, trusting in the LORD?

I cannot tell you in all honesty that I feel steadfast, trusting in God. It is my great desire to be steadfast with unwavering faith. But I don’t always feel relentless in my trust. I try. It is exactly what I want. To be steadfast trusting in God would be a great help to my time on earth. Although my trust in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit has grown stronger and stronger through time; I want my trust to be steady and unshaken when the earth pulls me down to my physical self (when I forget about my spiritual self).

GOOD NEWS! I have good news that our Father God has reminded me this week. It is very invigorating! This news will actually energize you!

God’s words for us this week will change your mindset regarding Psalm 112:7. We will continue to meditate and give thought to this verse this week, but with a new picture of it. We will see it from a heavenly and spiritual viewpoint. This, my friends, is true meditation. When you consider all the meanings and essence of a verse, you are receiving the genuine benefits of meditation. If you contemplate and pray on a particular word of God; it will no doubt settle in your heart and win over your mind.

Oh how I love the nature of meditation! I thank God for the lessons that he gives us on this subject, showing us the simplicity of it. It is so easy, yet so effective.

Now to the lesson:

Psalm 112:7 NIV

He will have no fear of bad news;

his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

Our verse Psalm 112:7 was a consolation last week when we understood that the Holy Spirit, our Helper, brings us courage. We don’t have to work hard to muster up fearlessness all on our own. The Holy Spirit is here to help us and bring us power from God. Part of this power we receive is courage. Acts 1:18 AMP says “But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.”

We have meditated and considered the words “I have no fear of bad news; my heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.” Did we begin to feel steadfast? Maybe you did or maybe you did not. It does not matter because I have great news for us this week!

BIG NEWS! Your heart is steadfast, trusting in God, especially when you accept the Holy Spirit as your Helper. Wow! That was easy!

You are steadfast, trusting in God NOT because you have a strong will and determination – NO!

You are steadfast, trusting in God because you know that you have a Helper here on earth, in you, sent from your Creator.

You are steadfast, trusting in God because you do not walk this earth alone. You have help! And your Helper is only reliable and dependable. Your Helper, the Holy Spirit, is not subject to emotional instability (like our physical bodies.) God wants to remind you of your Helper this week. He wants your attention to focus on the help he sent you.

Starting today, revisit Psalm 112:7 and meditate like this:

From Psalm 112:7 AMP

I have no fear of bad news;

My heart is steadfast, firm and unwavering,

trusting in the LORD.

Concentrate your thoughts on these few words “my heart is steadfast” while keeping your Helper in mind. If needed reflect and speak this addition to the verse:

My heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord

Because I am not alone!

I have a Helper, the Holy Spirit!

I love this! Love, love, love this! Who can stop our hearts knowing we have this Almighty, God-given Helper.

Challenge time!

I challenge you with the easiest task ever. Say throughout the next seven days:

I am steadfast! - or - My heart is steadfast!

Write down those few words on top of your to-do lists, work papers, calendar or any paper in any place. Watch to see your courage grow, your boldness soar and your love for God, Jesus and your Helper, the Holy Spirit, intensify for your delight!
